SWARNABHOOMI, started in year 2000 as a Social Service Organisation registered under Voluntary Social Service Organizations Act No. 31 of 1980. Our registration number K240. In our corporate social responsibility programmes, which helps in the development of the Rural Poor families and supports in the Development of the beneficiaries, socially, Economically, Psychologically and Spiritually.
SWARNABHOOMI strives to protect the rights of the rural poor and help provide equal opportunities to them through Education, Vocational Training, Community Development, Income Generation, Savings & Credit programmes.
The aim of the programme is to empower the beneficiaries. To enable them to participate in decision making, in matters which concerns them in their day to day life? They are educated in a manner which helps support in good governance in public affairs in the village.
SWARNABHOOMI in its endeavor to help improve the quality of living in the target beneficiaries provide assistance in income generation, savings & Credit to set up small enterprises, which would generate income which supplements their family income.
In implementing our program, we are getting enormous support from our partner social service organizations and NGOs. This is a great boost for our social service programmes.
Objectives :

Identify the CBOs in the target area and vocational training centres, and study the natures in which CBOs and VTCs are running.

Identify the Hospital, Dispensaries and Clinics functioning in the target area and study how their services are flown to meet the requirement of the target groups.

Vaccination for Children & mothers

How & when the clinics in the villages are functioned

Arrange awareness programme for mothers in the target area on weaving, food and leafy porridge for Children and maintain growth chart for each child.

Identify and plan how to utilise cultivation of the target families for quality and productive farming systems to enable them to have a better harvest.

Formulate possible target families in to small groups or societies and introduce a savings and credit scheme among them.

Build awareness among target families on safe water drinking, use of toilets and proper disposal of garbage and preservation of environmental sanitation.

Provide English Education for Rural schools.

Programmes to broaden the cultural barriers in Sri Lanka.

Implement Cultural exchange tours for further strengthen the harmony and peace of North and South of Sri Lanka and to ,minimize the cultural barriers , and also to be a symbolic icon of the “newly awakening Sri Lanka

Is to empower the rural poor to enable them to improve their quality of living, through equal opportunities for change and thus be part of the decision making body in the village and participate in good governance in the management of the village councils in providing services to the village.
